#Reading log
2017-03-28: A classic that’s been on my reading list for long. I finally decided on reading it this week and it was lovely. It was shorter than I expected and I finished it in just a few days. Sometimes it could be hard to read older works of fiction, because the language was so different hundred years ago from what it is now. This was not the case for me with The Great Gatsby. The writing is beautiful. It pulled me in quickly and I liked how the story was told from a third part. It made the description of the main character Jay Gatsby so much more mythical. A couple of months ago I read 📚 The Paris Wife describing the life of Ernest Hemingway. In it, there’s a mention of how he meets Fitzgerald in Paris and gets to read his new book The Great Gatsby. He finishes it in a couple of hours and exclaims “That’s a damn fine book.” As I read it for myself, I couldn’t stop thinking about that phrase. I think it’s so interesting to find out about those small details and how the lives of people are interconnected.
