#Things to consider

  • For better or worse I was born a traveler, wanting to go everywhere and see everything.
  • “Beginnings are important, too, darling. You should be patient with life.”
  • “Being too comfortable can ruin a writer as much as anything.”
  • I felt an understanding between us, a coming together of like minds, and I wanted to trust that feeling.

#Reading log

2025-02-25: It’s been interesting to read 📚 Love and Ruin lately. It’s about Marty Gellhorn who wants to become a writer and later on runs into Ernest Hemingway in Key West. From there the turn of events lead them both to Spain and Madrid into the midst of war as Franco is trying to wrench the country from its people. The time is in the mid 1930’s and Europe is getting down the rabbit hole of the next world war. I love getting into the Spanish details, the way they travel through the country, and how the relationship is evolving. For me it’s fascinating to read about this story since I read 📚 The Paris Wife so many years ago. That book was also about Ernest Hemingway but from an earlier period. I enjoy the perspective I gain as I read about the same time but from different people. Can’t stop to think about how both world wars were connected they way I learned it in 📚 Einstein.
