This book got me into the mindset of taking care of my mornings.

#Things to consider

  • Limit daily priorities to a list of six items. Three things that needs to get done during the day and three small steps toward the “push” goals for the year. Have weekly goals that make progress toward annual goals.
  • “What would you like to say you’ve done by the end of the year in the major categories of life?”
  • Mornings are for your highest-value activities.
  • Nurturing your career. Strategizing. Planning. Focused work.
  • Nurturing your family. Giving your family your best.
  • Nurturing yourself. Exercise. Spiritual practice. Creative practice.
  • Plan your time in 30-minute blocks. The best morning rituals are activities that result in long-term benefits.
  • Have a list of good activities. It’s effective to have a really good list of activities you can do.
  • A good weekend needs a plan. Plan out the weekends in two blocks. Pluck items from your happy list and peg them to the major weekend spots: Friday night, Saturday day, Saturday night, Sunday day, Sunday night.
