#Reading log
2017-08-09: Iโm reading ๐ New York 2140. A book that I recommended the book club earlier this year. I heard about it from Imaginary Worlds and was intrigued about the concept. A hundred years from now the global warming with rising sea levels has turned New York into a mega Venice of sorts. The streets are flooded so boats are used to navigates the rivers. Super skyscrapers have turned into communion living.
2017-08-21: Iโve reached a fascinating phase in ๐ New York 2140 now. The main characters have plotted loosely about crashing the whole capitalistic system. And now, after a huge storm has hit New York and people are taking shelter in Central Park, itโs actually happening. Uptown the rich have their apartments and plazas standing empty for casual visits, while other people now are homeless out in the open. So they want those apartments as housing and shelter, instead of them gaping empty. The collapse of the system starts by enabling a householders union. A union which goal is to not pay any loans or debts to the banks which makes the banks run to the government for aid. Money is not worth anything no more. Thatโs when the people overthrows it and chooses a government for, of, and by the people. Real democracy. Super interesting to read about this, even though I donโt agree with the mindset.
