#Things to consider

  • Trusting your gut feelings and not overvaluing the mind is also water from the spring of Zen teachings.
  • Rushing is like gulping down time.
  • Between sessions, I often go for a walk around the block. It doesn’t take longer than five minutes or so, but it makes for an excellent breather.
  • Taking a breather while you’re still at your desk isn’t enough.
  • Giving your full attention to drop-ins is a simple instruction that immediately provides more calm. It’s pleasurable to really take some time for a co-worker, a friend or your child, and then turn your full attention back to the task at hand.
  • The busier we are, the more we tend to sacrifice the things that are enjoyable. After all, they’re not really urgent, and so end up at the back of the line. The longer the line, the longer whatever is at the back of the line has to wait, until its turn might never come.
  • If you respond while tensions are still running high, there’s a good chance the situation will escalate.
  • Your intuition can manage your time much more effectively than your mind.
  • The more you trust your intuition to be a good manager, the better it will work.
  • See to it that your workplace has a pleasing, uncluttered feel to it.
  • When you do nothing, all kinds of things happen. When you don’t fill in the blanks, anything is possible.
